Lockdowner 2021:
The Socially-Distanced Comic-Strip.
January 5th 2021: The UK government puts the nation into lockdown again in response to the rapidly escalating threat of Covid-19 again. All non-essential shops and services are closed again, all events are cancelled again and everyone is instructed to stay at home again. Gary Knight decides to start his daily Lockdowner comic-strip on social media to deal with the virus lockdown madness one daft comic-strip at a time. Again.
But this time, there are a whole bunch of new issues, initiatives and insanity to deal with amongst the unwelcome return of all those restrictions and the events of another mad year.
Home Test Kits, Travel Corridors, The Roadmap, The Rule of 6, The Matt Hancock Snog, Harry & Meghan, Biden v Trump, face masks, video calls, food deliveries, dating apps, shed bars, sad walks, closed signs, outdoor heating, indoor retreating, dreaming of pubs, cursing hair, the short-lived European Super League, the long-delayed Euro 2020, exploration on Mars, exasperation on Earth, waiting for the jab, getting the jab, waiting for the jab again, getting the jab again.
It’s all in here somewhere, as experienced day by day, with the plucky sense of slightly unhinged humour it surely demanded. Again.
